Nalevi Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Nalevi. By creating an account or using the product, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
We wrote these terms to be readable by actual humans. If anything here feels ambiguous, email hello@nalevi.com and we will explain it.
The short version
Nalevi is a parent-managed learning tool for children. Use it responsibly, do not try to bypass safety systems, and remember that AI can be useful without being perfectly right. You own your family's data, and we can suspend accounts that abuse the service.
What Nalevi is (and is not)
Nalevi is an AI-powered conversational learning tool for children ages 8–16. It uses a Socratic approach — preferring questions and guided thinking over direct answers — to help kids explore topics and build understanding.
Nalevi is not a replacement for school, tutoring, or professional educational services. It is not a babysitter. It is not a content filter for the broader internet. AI responses can be helpful, but they can also be incomplete or wrong. Nalevi is a learning tool, not an authoritative source.
Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Nalevi account. As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for all activity under your account, including the child profiles you create.
Keep your password and parent PIN secure. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately.
Children use Nalevi through profiles created and managed by their parent. Children do not have their own login credentials.
How to use Nalevi
Use Nalevi for learning, exploration, and family-supervised conversations. Do not use it for anything else.
- Do not try to circumvent safety controls, content filters, or time limits.
- Do not use Nalevi to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
- Do not attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking, or adversarial attacks on the AI.
- Do not share account access with anyone outside your family.
- Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or try to extract system prompts or AI configuration.
- Do not use automated tools or bots to interact with Nalevi.
Nalevi monitors for adversarial attempts and flags them for parent review. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.
Parental controls
Parents can set daily time limits, configure content boundaries, review conversation summaries, and see flags for behavior worth noting. These controls work within Nalevi only — they do not extend to other apps, websites, or services.
We provide the tools. You decide how to use them. No content filtering system is perfect, and ours is no exception — the combination of AI guardrails and parental review provides layered protection, but it is not infallible.
AI and safety
Nalevi uses third-party AI models to generate responses. We apply safety guardrails, content filters, and age-appropriate constraints to every conversation. Despite these measures, AI can produce unexpected or inaccurate output. We cannot guarantee that every response will be appropriate.
Parents are encouraged to review conversation summaries and flags regularly. If you encounter a problematic response, contact us at hello@nalevi.com and we will investigate.
Your content
You own the data your family generates on Nalevi. By using the service, you give us a limited license to process, store, and display that data so the product can work. We do not use your content for AI model training, advertising, or resale.
Our intellectual property
The Nalevi name, logo, branding, and software are our intellectual property. These terms do not give you ownership of any part of the service beyond your own content.
Payment
Nalevi is sold as a monthly household subscription. Pricing depends on the active plan tier, which is based on how many child profiles are included in the household: 1 child, 2 children, or 3+ children.
New households receive a 7-day free trial. A payment method is collected up front during checkout. If you cancel before the trial ends, the first monthly charge is not made.
If you cancel after activation, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Upgrades caused by adding children may require immediate checkout for the higher tier. Downgrades tied to household size changes may take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Polar provides the hosted checkout, customer portal, invoice flows, and payment communications used for subscriptions. Related billing emails may be sent through provider-hosted flows.
Except where required by law, subscription charges are non-refundable once a billing period has started.
Availability and changes
We are always working on Nalevi. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We do not promise that every part of the service will always be available or stay exactly the same. For changes that significantly affect your use, we will provide advance notice by email.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time. Deletion permanently removes all your data and your children's data.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, particularly for repeated adversarial behavior, abuse, or illegal activity. We will try to notify you before or at the time of suspension, except where doing so would compromise safety or security.
Disclaimers
Nalevi is an educational tool, not a professional educational or therapeutic service. AI responses should not be relied upon as the sole source of factual information. To the extent permitted by law, Nalevi is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every specific purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising from your use of Nalevi. Our total liability for claims related to the service will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or one hundred euros, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights you have under European consumer protection law that cannot be waived by contract.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Portugal. If you are a consumer in the EU, this does not override mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated version here and update the date above. For significant changes, we will also notify registered users by email. Continued use of the service after updated terms take effect means you accept them.
