Dear parent,

At my kids' school, I'm the father who talks about social media and screen safety. The one who pushed for the Wait Until Later pledge. Since I've spent twenty years building software at Google, YouTube and Silicon Valley startups, people often listen to me.

But when AI arrived with new challenges and more positive posibilities than any tech before, I couldn't find a path forward:

  • I wanted to let my kids learn AI (and with AI), but
  • I couldn't trust the giant tech companies making it

So I decided to take it into my own hands: I became the screen safety guy who built an AI product for kids.

I built it because our children are going to use AI whether we like it or not. Many already are. And right now, their options are chatbots designed to maximize engagement, capture their attention, built by companies that train on their data.

AI assistants that spit back complete answers and don't help them think. That appease to their every desire, capturing their affection and jeopardizing their mental health.

Nalevi is the AI I wished existed. It teaches kids to think through questions instead of handing them answers. It flags emotional attachment instead of encouraging it. It gives parents real visibility and control into what's happening.

It's hosted in the EU, built independently, with heart and care, and no incentive other than being worth what you pay for it. I'd rather serve a thousand families well than millions carelessly.

If you have questions, ideas, or doubts, write me. Hope you like it!

Features

Built for trust from the ground up

Nalevi is smart and fun. But above all, it's safe for kids.

Time limits

Set daily limits so kids can explore and learn within healthy boundaries.

Content controls

Choose whether free exploration stays open and which sensitive topics are allowed.

Analytics, summaries, and flags

Review usage, conversations and get alerts for behavior worth looking into.

Privacy-first

Built and hosted in the EU by an independent developer. Models are never trained on your children's data.

Socratic approach

Instead of answers, Nalevi prefers questions, inviting kids to share their thoughts and discover on their own.

Age-appropriate language

Nalevi adjusts content, vocabulary, and tone so the conversation fits the child.

Emotionally Safe

A tool, not a friend

Nalevi uses clinically defined signals to avoid and flag emotional attachment, protecting your child's mental wellbeing.

Designed for learning, not engagement

Different from most AI apps, Nalevi always presents itself as a tool, never as a friend or companion. This lowers the risk of emotional attachment from the start.

Flags and refusals

If a child shows signs of emotional attachment, parents see a clear flag in their dashboard, and Nalevi refuses to continue in that direction and redirects safely.

How it works

Easy to start, easy to supervise.

You set the guardrails

Choose daily limits, content boundaries, and the kind of exploration you want to allow.

Child explores with guided AI

Nalevi keeps the conversation fun and useful while leaning on questions more than direct answers.

Your reviews the signals

Summaries, usage patterns, and flags make it easy to see what deserves a follow-up.
